I am a freelance copywriter with a background in journalism and many years’ experience in public relations. I’m based in Mid Cheshire.
Discovering I had a way with words while studying English at grammar school, I bagged my first job on the local newspaper. I trained with the Warrington Guardian Series and after a career break (and three children), went back into journalism, working for the Chester Chronicle Series. After seven years, I became the Group’s first ever female editor, in charge of three editions.
Almost eight years ago, I made the leap into PR and joined Staniforth, one of the North West’s leading agencies, where I worked as a senior member of the public affairs team.
I worked on high profile, integrated communications campaigns for numerous public sector organisations and managed internal and external communications projects for B2B clients, until leaving the agency to go freelance in December 2009.
